The CPS is the force responsible for overseeing the observance
of Wolf359 Commonwealth Law. They have a presence in all
member systems. Usually both orbital and planetside. They
have many roles in-system including acting in an advisory
capacity, investigating breaches, enforcing compliance and
when neccessary arrest and detention.
The CPS thus employs specialist officers trained in
Interstellar Law, Commonwealth Law, Diplomatic Affairs, as
well as the more normal police funtions of enforcement and
investigation.
The total size of the CPS force is estimated at about 10000
officers.
CPS officers work in conjunction with local system police
forces, normally in an advisory capacity, although they do
have the authority to take over a local investigation where
this is deemed necessary.
